What are the aims of the AIP?

• The AIP aims to provide a balanced assessment of scientific evidence, analysis, debate and commentary on the public health (epidemiology and nutrition) and social science research on alcohol that is published and released in the UK.

• The majority of people in the UK drink responsibly and the AIP contributes to the aim of providing balanced information to these consumers in order that they can continue to make informed, personal and responsible decisions regarding what they drink

• The AIP will seek to ensure that any scientific research on alcoholic beverages is comprehensive in its scope and that the conclusions of any study are supported by the evidence of the research.

• The AIP will challenge and correct faulty and incomplete scientific research and commentary on alcohol

What does AIP do?

The AIP will advocate for balanced comment about the role of alcohol in society, the relationship between individuals and alcohol and the risks and impact of alcohol on individual health. Its core objective is to ensure that all public discussion about the role of alcohol is balanced and evidence based.

Who are the members of AIP?

AIP members are Bacardi, Brown-Forman, Beam Suntory, Campari, Diageo, Moet Hennessy, Pernod Ricard and Remy Cointreau.

Who funds AIP?

AIP is funded by the eight members.

How is AIP managed?

AIP is a limited company (10314408) and like all limited companies it is therefore overseen by a Board of Directors. AIP Directors are drawn from member companies.
